What is the difference between explicit memory and implicit memory?

From my understanding, implicit memory is the memory involving procedures. While, explicit memory is the memory involving specific events or specific things. So if someone has a memory about something but cannot recall it happening, what type of memory is that? Or, is that some type of dream? Correct about what?

2. What you're asking is something different. Implicit memory is for things you use everyday. Not that you have to think about, for example: how to turn on a light, how to ride a bike. Its things that come "natural" to you and is not necessary for you to actually think about. Now explicit for example, is a memory like if you go on a picnic and you're trying to remember what you ate. You're retrieving, not just doing. For your question I would assume its explicit just because it doesn't involve you actually doing anything, and you're trying to recall it as well.
